Advanced Dental Technology Grand Rapids
The New Age of Hi-Tech Dentistry
A lot has changed in the last 75 years, including how we administer certain dental treatments. While many of Dr. Robert’s restorations and treatments are still present in his patient’s mouths, new technological innovations have made providing accurate and long lasting dental care easier to achieve. As you can see below, we use many unique devices and systems in our practice, so feel free to review the information and call us if you have any questions.
CT/ Cone Beam Scanner

The Planmeca CBCT Scanner is frequently used when high-resolution, three-dimensional imaging is required. Dental implant placement, root canal treatment, and other similar and complex procedures can be performed more accurately when using this device for treatment planning. Taking hundreds of images that capture the face and mouth, we can identify areas to avoid while mapping out a more precise approach before the day of your procedure.
Digital Impression System

Our Trios 3 digital impression system eliminates the need for messy dental impression materials by capturing thousands of images of your teeth and bite and creating a 3D model, all with a handheld, camera-tipped device. Once projected onto a chairside screen, Dr. Dan and Dr. Matt can incorporate their specifications and notes so that high-quality, comfortable restorations can be created. The system is also used to create retainers and custom nightguards.
Digital X-Rays

When our dentists need to see below the gumline, they rely on digital X-rays to provide a clearer visual. Safer to use than traditional radiographs because of the reduced emission of radiation, these X-rays offer higher-resolution imaging and can be viewed seconds after we take the initial picture. With the help of this device, our team can more accurately diagnose and treat your smile so that better oral health remains on the horizon.
Intraoral Camera

Being able to convey what our team sees when looking in your mouth is easier now that we have our intraoral camera. Ideal for clear imaging and patient education, we can view the same screen and explain what kind of issues we find and how we plan to treat them. This device also allows us to describe how treatment will work to improve the affected areas and why maintaining good oral hygiene is essential.
Nitrous Oxide Sedation

If you or a loved one is nervous about visiting the dentist’s office, we can alleviate any anxiety with the help of nitrous oxide sedation. It is a mild solution that is safe and easy to use, providing a calming effect within minutes of inhalation. What you’ll experience is a more relaxed state that allows you to disregard what is happening around you so that our team can administer the treatment you need more efficiently.
